#1 — Google Gemini 3.5 Live Translate: Streaming Speech-to-Speech in 70+ Languages
Google has released Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, a streaming speech-to-speech audio model that translates spoken language across 70+ languages in continuous real-time — without waiting for speakers to finish sentences. The model rolls out across three surfaces: the Gemini Live API in public preview for developers, Google Meet expanding from 5 to 70+ supported languages with 2,000+ language combinations (private preview for select Workspace customers), and the Google Translate app on Android and iOS with a new listening mode. The system preserves speaker intonation, pacing, and pitch in the translated output, and all generated audio carries an imperceptible SynthID watermark. Developer platforms including Agora, LiveKit, and Pipecat already use the Live API, and Grab is testing the model for driver-traveller communication across its 10 million+ monthly voice calls.
